About the Company.

Pro Pilot Corporation, which owns and operates Pro Pilot Suspension and Pro Pilot Racing has been building and distributing Suspension through out the United States for over 25 Years. We provide Suspension for over eighty motorcycle dealers across the country as well as thousands of individual customers with their own specific needs. Currently about half the Suspension is Road Race-Street and half Offroad-MX-GNCC.

Founded by Eleven Time AMA National number holder, Three Time AMA Vet Race Champion, Multi-Time Raceway Park Track Champion, Atlantic Grand Prix Series XC1 Pro class Champion, and Life Time AMA member Jim Kapitan.

With a background in engineering, computer aided design, architecture and business, and over twenty five years building suspension, Jim was asked by the University of Illinois Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Formula GP Automotive research program to have Pro Pilot Suspension help develop and assist in the suspension for several projects.

In 2000 Ohlins USA called upon Pro Pilot Suspension to become a premier Service, Sales and Technical Support Center for all their World Class Motorcycle Products. Training with Mike Watt, personal suspension chief technical director for many longtime factory racers including Ben Spies, and Thomas Pederson an engineer technician from Sweden Factory and long time friend of founder Kenth Ohlin dating back to 1976.

Pro Pilot Suspension has also designed, developed and produced several custom Ohlins adapted suspension components for many popular models including some BMW Sport bike and Street bike applications that have been very well received.
 
For over fifteen years Jim traveled to every U.S. AMA National event and doing select races in Canada, Denmark and Sweden.  Jim also lived in Florida for Ten years from Christmas to Daytona building some of the fastest racers suspension and building and running his own successful company.
