About the Company. Pro Pilot Suspension has been building and distributing national-caliber racing suspension throughout the United States for over 25 years. We provide suspension to almost 100 performance-oriented motorcycle dealers across the country, as well as thousands of individual customers with their own specific needs. Currently about half our suspension is Road Race-Street and half Offroad-MX-GNCC. Pro Pilot Corporation was founded over 25 years ago by Eleven Time AMA National number holder, Three Time AMA Vet Race Champion, Multi-Time Raceway Park Track Champion, Atlantic Grand Prix Series XC1 Pro class Champion, and Life Time AMA member (whew!) Jim Kapitan. Besides being fast on a motorcycle, he's worked with the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Formula GP Automotive research group at the University of Illinois, because of his background in engineering, computer aided design, architecture and business. In 2000 Ohlins USA called upon Pro Pilot Suspension to become a premier Service, Sales and Technical Support Center for all their World Class Motorcycle Products. Pro Pilot Suspension has also designed, developed and produced several custom Ohlins adapted suspension components for many popular models including BMW Sport bike and Street bike applications that have been very well received. For over fifteen years Jim traveled to every U.S. AMA National event racing and doing race services participating in select races in Canada, Denmark, Sweden, and Newfoundland. Jim also worked and lived in Florida for ten years for several months of the winter through Daytona building some of the fastest racers suspension and running his own successful company. He now lives in New Jersey. Nobody knows why. |
